Maidens of War in the Light of the Emperor

He contacted us with a clear and well-defined idea: he wanted to bring to life a small but powerful force of the Sisters of Our Lady Martyr. He knew us from seeing other imperial miniature projects and was looking for the same level of dedication and precision.
His commission included such iconic pieces as Morvenn Vahl, Triumph of St. Katherine, and Saint Celestine. The color scheme had to maintain the characteristic black armor, but replace the traditional red of the fabrics with an intense violet. As a special detail, both Celestine and Morvenn Vahl would wear dark gold armor, providing an elegant and distinctive contrast.
He also asked us to assamble and magnetize the most complex miniatures so that they could be adapted to different configurations and travel safely. The bases had to be crafted to a premium standard, evoking the sacred floor of an imperial cathedral.

The Deadly Elegance of the Martyr Sisters

The project began with a paint test and base to confirm the layout and setting. With the client’s approval, we moved on to assembling and magnetizing the most complex miniatures. The Paragon Warsuits, with their multiple components, and the Sacresants, with their closed poses, posed a technical challenge that we solved with precision.
The work progressed in clear stages: preparation and assembly, base coats, shadows and highlights, and finally details and bases. During each phase, we sent daily photos so the client could see how the pieces were taking shape. It was especially rewarding to show the transformation from simple black primers to richly detailed armor in dark gold and intense violets.
The heroes, painted to a premium standard, took up much of our time and attention. Every fold, filigree, and symbol was treated as a unique piece. The premium bases, inspired by a sacred urban environment, added context and drama.
