Black Templars Force
Color and paint schemes
In this case, we are dealing with a compact Black Templars force, consisting of two units of Brothers in Arms, a Captain with jetpacks, and a custom-built Elder Exterminator. The client asked us for a varied job, with pieces at different levels of finish: from Game for the troops, to ornate for the secondary characters, to Premium for their Elder.
We took care of assembly, magnetization, conversions with 3D parts, and painting. In the case of the Captain, magnets were added to allow for interchangeable weapon options, while the Elder was a more ambitious conversion: starting with an Exterminator Captain, a 3D banner and a rod through the combat fist were integrated, giving the whole piece a heroic and narrative feel.

Customer briefing
Relics and banners in the service of the chapter
His idea was clear: a small force with its own identity, with personalized heroes and a classic layout, but with our grimdark style.
He asked us for two units of Brothers in Arms as the core, accompanied by a Captain with retro-rockets and an Elder Exterminator. The challenge was in the customization: the Captain had to have magnetized options, and the Elder had to become a unique mini, consistent with the chapter’s background.
The painting was an important point: white shoulder pads for the troops, black with red trim for the Captain, and a black-and-white mix for the Elder. With a grimdark tone, battle wear, and visible dirt.

A small crusade with great character
We began the project by assembling the miniatures and creating a sample to validate the design and finish. Once approved, we focused first on the Brothers in Arms squads, painted to game standard.
The Captain was magnetized with various weapon configurations and painted to a high standard, with special attention paid to the heraldry on the shoulder pads. The Elder required more work: conversion, integration of a 3D banner, and a dramatic effect on the combat fist.
The entire project was unified in the final stage with the bases, made in earthy and gray tones, with details of rubble and dirt.
