Imperial Knights Mechanicus

    Imperial Knights Mechanicus
    Color and paint schemes

Few things command as much respect on the battlefield as an Imperial Knight marching alongside the cold efficiency of the Adeptus Mechanicus.
Each piece has been crafted to an ornate level, combining advanced painting techniques, freehands, and battle effects. We also assemble, magnetize, and 3D print various custom weapons and accessories, such as the Gallant’s shield.
The color scheme maintains consistency with the Titan: red, white, and black plates, with a balance between the martial purity of the Empire and the mechanical grime of Mars. In the Skitarii, we reinforced the Martian red and metallic glints, contrasting with the worn surface of the Knights.
The trench-style bases complete the setting, replicating the terrain of the original diorama.

Freehands and war machines: narrative painting for the Empire

This project was born out of trust. Our client, with whom we had already collaborated on their Titan Warlord, wanted to take the next step: a complementary force that would maintain visual consistency with their flagship piece. Thus, this combination of Imperial Knights Adeptus Mechanicus was born.
From the outset, their briefing was very specific: they wanted to respect the exact color code of the Titan, with the same transitions between red, white, and black.
It was a meticulous job, loaded with symbolism and attention to detail, where every brushstroke had to speak the same language as their Titan Warlord.

Steel, oil, and devotion: the combined army of Knights and Mechanicum

We began the project with an analysis phase, comparing the tones and finishes of the original Titan Warlord. It was essential that the new set exude the same grimdark atmosphere.
The black and red plates were painted simultaneously to maintain consistency between the units. The Skitarii were worked on afterwards, taking advantage of their warmer range to reinforce the link with Mars.
The freehands on the shield and the Armigers were done by the same artist who worked on the Titan.
Finally, we created trench bases, with rust, dust, and half-buried cables, reflecting an industrial war front.
