Ice Eldars
Color and paint schemes
Every expansion that arrives at the workbench has its own story, and this one from the Ice Eldar is one of the most special. Our client wanted to continue the army we had already started months ago: an Aeldari host deployed on a frozen world.
The commission included everything from swift Shining Spears and Swooping Hawks to large figures such as the imposing Wraith Knight and the mythical Eldrad Ulthuan. Everything was done at a premium level, applying the same color schemes as the original project to ensure continuity and consistency.
The bases were made with 3D ice crystal bits, which amplify the contrast between the arctic blue and the cold, metallic tones of the army. Painting these pieces allowed us to play with glazes and translucent textures, maintaining the elegant and distant aesthetic that characterizes the Aeldari.

Customer briefing
Aeldari on ice
Our client returned to the workshop eager to expand his Ice Eldar force. He was familiar with our method and trusted us to maintain the aesthetic we had built together: glacial tones, cold reflections, and icy textures on the bases.
The briefing was straightforward: reproduce the designs from the previous project and apply them to the new units, without any noticeable break between the first and second batches. The new troops—Swooping Hawks, Sky Weavers, Fire Dragons—had to feel like part of the same army, even though they added dynamism and variety.
The premium level was maintained in all pieces, from heroes to vehicles, with special attention paid to the Wraith Knight, the new visual centerpiece of the set.

Wraith Knight in the Blizzard
The expansion was approached with a very methodical workshop strategy. First, the base armor was painted en masse, using an airbrush and translucent glazes to match the tones of the previous pieces.
Then each painter took on a specific set, constantly checking the references from the first commission. The heroes, such as Eldrad and the Warlocks, received special attention, with their stellar capes painted freehand on a pearl blue base.
The project was completed with the assembly of the Wraith Knight, a monumental figure that unified the entire army. After checking for consistency, we carried out the final QC and photo shoot.
