Blood Angels Squad
Color and paint schemes
Bringing together the most legendary heroes of the Blood Angels was an experience that was as demanding as it was inspiring. This entire army, featuring Dante, Sanguinor, Mephiston, Lemartes, Astaroth, and their elite entourage, came with a clear mission.
We applied premium paint to all the miniatures and Ornate bases set in a devastated urban battlefield. In addition to the painting, we took care of the assembly, magnetization, and modification of banners, removing original reliefs and replacing them with custom freehands.
The biggest challenge was to unite two very different styles: the vibrant red of the Angels and the cold tones of the previous Void Dragons.

Customer briefing
Guardians of Sacrifice: the Blood Angels
Our client, already a veteran of our company, had trusted us with a previous Void Dragons project. Upon seeing the result, he decided to take the leap to a complete army of Blood Angels.
He wanted to maintain the grimdark atmosphere and desaturated palette, but with the chapter’s own tones and heraldry.
He asked us for Premium paint, Ornate bases, and the removal of the original reliefs from the flags to replace them with custom freehands. He also requested that the heroic units—Dante, Mephiston, and Sanguinor—retain their classic scheme, while the Sanguinary Guard would feature dull gold and the Death Company, matte black with red highlights.

The golden age darkens: grimdark in the Sanguinary Guard
We began the project by preparing a sample of the Death Company, fine-tuning the saturation of the black and the contrast with the reds.
Once the tone was validated, we assembled the rest of the miniatures and magnetized the arms of the Sanguinary Guard, ensuring their versatility on the table and in transport.
We worked on the armor in phases, combining airbrushing and brushwork to achieve a subtle shine with great depth. The golds were nuanced with sepia and rust filters, while the blacks received bluish glazes to enhance volume.
The bases were created last, recreating urban ruins with rust, cracks, and mineral pigments.
