Blood Angels
Color and paint schemes
This has been one of those projects that has made us enjoy from the first brushstroke to the last detail. The assignment: a force of Bloody Angels totally dedicated to the Company of Death, with its dark, aggressive and marked by fatality aesthetics. A commission with character.
The army is composed of 10 Assault Intercessors, 10 Jump Pack Intercessors, an imposing Repulsor and four legendary characters: Lemartes, Astorath, Mephiston and Dante. Each miniature was carefully assembled in our studio, making sure to maintain visual coherence and respect every indication of the client, including a key detail: the distinctive “X” of the Company of Death on the shoulder pad and knee of each Marine.
As for the painting, we divided the project into two blocks: the infantry and the Repulsor were worked at Game level, looking for a solid quality, well contrasted and with a quick reading on the table. On the other hand, the characters were painted at the Showy level, following the official Games Workshop schemes to give them a spectacular presence. They are miniatures that capture the eye immediately, and we wanted them to convey the narrative weight they have in any army of Blood Angels.
The bases, also made at Game level, were set in the deserts of Baal. We wanted the whole scene to breathe that martial and dramatic air of the Blood Angels’ home planet. Arid textures, warm tones and reddish dust invade everything.

Customer briefing
Echoes of Baal: The Damned Company Awakens.
It all started with a direct message. The client already knew our work and was very clear about what he was looking for: to transform a collection of miniatures of the Bloody Angels into a force completely immersed in the aesthetics of the Company of Death. We loved the clarity of his proposal from the very first moment.
He commissioned us to paint 20 marines (10 with tactical backpacks, 10 with retrorockets), a Repulsor and four emblematic characters. The heart of the project was in its setting: an army unified around the solemn black of the Company of Death, with its symbols of condemnation clearly visible. The “X’s” on shoulder pads and knees were not just an ornament, they were essential.
The characters, however, were to stand out: Mephiston, Dante, Lemartes and Astorath would follow the official colors as they appear on the Games Workshop website. He also specified that he wanted all the bases to simulate the red deserts of Baal.

General picture of the project Game & Ornate level
Blood, Sand & Steel: Wrath of the Fallen
We organized this project as a well-planned campaign: daily progress, clear objectives and constant reviews with the client. From the first brushstroke, each phase was recorded with photos that we sent day after day, so he could see how his vision took shape.
We started with the infantry and Repulsor, painted at the Game level. Although the scheme was unified, the challenge was to maintain dynamism and variety between poses, while respecting the somber character of the Company of Death. Black was the protagonist, but the white “X’s” on shoulder pads and knees stole part of the spotlight: small, simple… and absolutely essential.
The characters were another story. Painted at the Ornate level, each one had their moment in the spotlight on the workbench. Here we allowed ourselves more detail, more care, more layers. Following the Games Workshop style allowed us to show off more advanced techniques and show the best of our studio.
The bases were the final touch: desert tones, cracked earth and that reddish dust that transports us directly to Baal. A perfect closure for a Blood Angels project that, step by step, was built with patience, dedication and many shared photos.
