Iron Hands Squad
Color and paint schemes
In this commission, we immersed ourselves in the dark and metallic universe of the Iron Hands. The client asked us for a compact army, designed to be displayed in a custom display case that he was building himself.
We decided to work on the entire set at a premium level, from the miniatures to the bases, ensuring a uniform finish worthy of a display case. We carefully assembled the pieces, magnetized the bases, and designed bases using a combination of cork and 3D printing.
The classic Iron Hands scheme remained intact: deep black as a base, polished metallic details, and the chapter’s custom symbol on each shoulder pad. The most demanding challenge was precisely that repeated freehand work, which required a steady hand and patience.

Customer briefing
Techmarines in the service of the Omnissiah
This project was born from the vision of a client who already had a clear idea of how he wanted to present his Iron Hands. It wasn’t just an army to play with, but a set that had to fit into a display he had designed himself.
The briefing included selected pieces: Iron Father Feirros, several Techmarines, a squad of Heavy Intercessors, and three different dreadnoughts. The scheme was classic black with metallic details. He also insisted that we avoid any kind of weathering or battle damage.
Another key point was integration into the display. To achieve this, he requested custom bases with cork and 3D printing, as well as magnetization so that each miniature would fit perfectly into the structure he was preparing.

The army of the personalized symbol
From day one, we organized our work with a clear goal in mind: total consistency. We began by airbrushing all the armor in deep black and applying the first metallic highlights in unison, so that the base would be uniform.
The biggest challenge was reproducing the chapter’s custom symbol. It was a freehand design that had to be applied to several miniatures, and repeating it required extreme precision.
The bases also took extra time: we modeled a mixture of cork with 3D-printed pieces, seeking the industrial aesthetic that the client had imagined.
