Orange Tyranids

    Orange Tyranids
    Color and paint schemes

Few factions convey as much visual impact as the Orange Tyranids, and in this new commission we expanded the brood with creatures of all sizes. The order included a Deathleaper, two Norn Emissary/Assimilators magnetized to maximize their play options, an Exocrino, six Tyranid Guards, and a horde of twenty Hormagants.
As usual, the project was not limited to painting: we carried out assembly, magnetization, and custom bases, ensuring that each miniature had consistency and functionality on the table. The levels of execution were Game and Ornate.
The color scheme for the army: light grayish skin, saturated orange shell, and pink light effects on bio-energetic weapons.

The Awakening of the Brood Brothers

The client, a veteran of our workshop, wanted to expand his swarm once again with a wide variety of orders. From the outset, he asked us to stick as closely as possible to the established design: light gray skin, orange shell, and a touch of pink for the weapons. The idea was for the new creatures to fit naturally into the army we had already painted for him.
Among the most important specifications was the magnetization of the two Norns, so they could be played interchangeably as Assimilators or Emissaries. He also insisted that the melee weapons have black details with red edges to maintain consistency with the original aesthetic.

The Cult marches on, hidden in the crowd

We began with the general assembly and immediately proceeded to magnetize the two Norns. The challenge was to integrate the alternative pieces well, avoiding abrupt cuts and achieving a natural fit. After several tests, we achieved a clean fit that allows us to switch between game variants without compromising aesthetics.
The painting phase began with joint base coats for skin and shell. From there, we worked in groups: Hormagants as a block, then Guards, Exocrine, and finally heroes and monstrosities. The application of pink OSL on weapons was a key point, as it provides the characteristic alien effect. The project culminated with work on bases, following the line of previous commissions and closing the circle of visual coherence
