Purple T’au
Color and paint schemes
When the client brought us this Purple T’au project, we knew we had something special on our hands. It’s not every day that you work with a T’au force so well thought out, with a pre-defined color scheme and a clear vision of the end result. Our task was to bring this imposing collection of armor and troops to life, making sure that each unit stood out without losing the cohesion of the whole.
The Purple T’au army is composed of a variety of key units: from the versatile Crisis Battlesuits to the mighty Riptide, as well as support units such as the Pathfinders and the stealthy Stealth Battlesuits. All have been painted in a vibrant lilac scheme, with black and gold accents that enhance their presence on the battlefield. The icy ambient bases reinforce the ambiance and add a touch of contrast to the color scheme.
The painting was done at game level, which means that each miniature has a clean and defined finish, perfect for playing without sacrificing detail. As the miniatures arrived fully assembled, we were able to focus directly on painting, applying lighting and profiling techniques to highlight volumes and textures. Working by units allowed us to ensure uniformity without losing dynamism.
One of the most interesting challenges of the project was to integrate the conversions that the client had made on some of the miniatures. These small modifications added an extra degree of customization to the army, and we were able to adapt them to the scheme without breaking the harmony of the whole. The end result is a T’au force ready to deploy, looking imposing and perfectly cohesive

Customer briefing
The Call of the Cold: The Rise of a Unique T’au Army
Our client, a veteran of the T’au universe, came to us with a very clear idea in mind. He had seen our work on networks and decided that we were the perfect team to bring his Purple T’au army to life. From the very first moment, he transmitted us his enthusiasm and his desire to achieve a spectacular finish without losing coherence in the whole.
The assignment was to paint a complete T’au force in a lilac scheme with black and gold details, an unusual combination that would add a distinctive touch to his miniatures. In addition, he wanted the bases to evoke an icy landscape, with cold tones and textures contrasting with the warmth of the lilac. He provided us with a pre-painted sample to ensure that we captured his vision and maintained uniformity throughout the army.
As an added bonus, some of his miniatures featured custom conversions, which meant an extra challenge to fit them into the scheme without losing consistency. With all this on the table, we accepted the challenge and prepared to make this T’au force stand out as it deserved.

Between the Frozen Mist and the Lilac Sparkle: The Creation of a T’au Force
The process of this order was as agile as satisfactory. With the miniatures already assembled, we could start directly with the painting, following the scheme defined by the client. We opted for a phased execution, working by units to ensure the uniformity of the set and avoid any discrepancy in tones or finishes.
From the beginning, we maintained constant communication with the client, sending him images of each stage: from the first base coats to the final details. This dynamic not only allowed him to see the progress day by day, but also to make small suggestions on minor adjustments to certain shades and finishes.
The conversions added a point of complexity, as some pieces had different volumes than the rest of the T’au range. Even so, we applied strategic shadows and highlights to integrate them naturally into the army.
The final touch was provided by the icy environment bases, with snow and ice effects that contrasted perfectly with the vibrant lilac of the armor
