Space Wolves Greytide

    Space Wolves Greytide
    Color and paint schemes

The customer asked us to reproduce exactly a project we painted a couple of years ago: a Grey Tide with all the iconography and dark aesthetics that he liked so much. The result has been a compact army but full of character, with varied units and outstanding heroes.
The set consists of 10 Intercessors, 10 Reivers, 5 Hounds of Morkai, a Primaris Lieutenant, a Librarian Phobos, a Ragnar Blackmane, and an Invictor Tactical Suit. Everything was assembled using Grey Tide bits (backpacks, shoulder pads, weapons, and heads).
We painted the entire army to a Ornate level, paying special attention to the details of the bits, which are ornate and demanding to work with. In addition, we did the assembly, 3D conversion, and snowy themed bases that place the army in a frozen environment, typical of Fenris.

    Wolves of Steel and Frost

This veteran client had already entrusted us with a very similar project in the past. When he saw the result, he was so satisfied that, years later, he returned asking for an extension in the same aesthetic line.
The scheme maintains the classic colors of the Space Wolves, but darker, with a muted grayish blue that gives it a more somber and veteran feel. To reinforce this atmosphere, we applied effects of wear and tear, chips, and accumulated dirt. Each miniature fits in with the rest in a very coherent and narrative ensemble.
Snowy bases were a must, to give them that Fenris feel. And the level had to be Ornate, taking care of consistency and details.

The process was linear but meticulous. The Grey Tide bits set the tone, and a lot of time had to be spent working on the details. Once the conversions were ready, we applied the base coats of grayish blue and began shading and weathering.
To maintain cohesion, we painted all the miniatures following a unified flow, from infantry to heroes. The end result was an army that looked like it had come straight from the same battlefront.
The Reivers anecdote marked the project: the client went from having 5 to 10 thanks to a small workshop error that ended up working in their favor.
