White Custodes
Color and paint schemes
The White Custodes project was born from a simple but powerful idea: to break the mold. We abandoned the traditional imperial gold in favor of an unusual scheme of white armor with lilac accents, seeking a more sober and spiritual aesthetic.
The work included assembly, magnetization, painting, and custom bases with a forest setting. We incorporated elements of natural roots and dyed resin bushes into the bases, evoking a humid and ancestral environment.
The painting was executed at three levels: Game, Ornate, and Premium, with special care given to the heroes. The cool lights on the white and lilac cloths brought a translucent finish to life, while the crimson-toned weapons provided a vibrant contrast.

Customer briefing
White, purple, and steel: the balance of the Custodes
The commission came with a clear premise: “I want my Custodes, but white.” And that’s where the adventure began. The client, a veteran of the hobby, wanted his army to have a more ethereal aesthetic, where white symbolized purity and lilac symbolized nobility.
To achieve this, we created an initial sample with several shades of white until we found a warm one, not too cold, that worked with the lilac fabrics and the wooded environment.
The miniatures were divided into three levels of painting: Game, Ornate, and Premium, adjusting the detail according to rank. The bases were designed with wet grass, natural roots, and light touches of synthetic moss.

An imperial army dressed in light and ceremony
As it was an unusual palette, the first step was to create a sample that balanced the pearly white and lilac. Once validated, the work progressed in phases: assembly, gray primer, base lights in cool white, and then successive layers of glazes and metallics.
We painted all the armor simultaneously to ensure uniformity, and then tackled the details and weapons unit by unit. The heroes received more exhaustive treatment, with gradients on their faces and energy effects on their weapons.
Finally, we completed the wooded bases with earth tones and touches of artificial moisture. The cohesion and final contrast exceeded our expectations.
