Solo Leveling Aeldari
Color and paint schemes
This Aeldari army, inspired by the Solo Leveling universe, clearly belongs to the second group. The client wanted a force with a very specific identity: a dark and elegant look.
The entire project was executed at the Ornate level, aiming for a very solid finish suitable for both display and play. We handled both the painting and the base construction, designed with a barren and weathered aesthetic.
We worked with very dark, desaturated bases to subsequently build up the lighting using purple OSL, magenta highlights, and bluish gradients. In the case of the Wave Serpent, we took the idea of the “galactic style” even further.

Customer briefing
Between purple energy and ancient technology
His main inspiration was the anime *Solo Leveling*, especially that blend of shadows, purple energy, and dark atmosphere that characterizes many of its scenes. Although the project originally included two opposing factions, for the Aeldari side he wanted to maintain an elegant, high-tech aesthetic.
From the start, he gave us very clear references regarding the color palette he was looking for. He wanted dark tones, with hints of purple and neon highlights, but without resorting to overly saturated colors.
He also paid close attention to consistency among units. Although characters like Fuegan or Asurmen had to retain their own personalities, the army had to feel visually unified on the table.

From the stars to the battlefield
We started by using an airbrush to quickly establish the main highlights and maintain visual consistency across all the Aeldari units.
Oil paints played an important role throughout the process, especially for smoothing transitions and creating that slightly grimy, atmospheric finish we were aiming for.
The Avatar of Khaine allowed us to work with very extreme fire effects and warm lighting, while the Wave Serpent was practically a complete exercise in atmospheric painting and space aesthetics.
