Dark Angels 30K
Color and paint schemes
In this project, we revisited a Dark Angels collection we were already familiar with to reinterpret it using the color scheme employed by the First Legion during the Horus Heresy.
We handled the assembly, custom conversions, painting, and the creation of bases featuring 3D-printed vegetation and branches that evoke a silent, abandoned forest. Both the miniatures and the bases were crafted to the Ornate level.
The entire collection revolves around a very dark green combined with deep red robes and subtle metallic accents. The differences between units are primarily based on the color of the shoulder pads.

Customer briefing
The Legacy of the First Legion
When a returning customer works with us, we usually have a significant advantage: we know exactly what they’re looking for and how they envision their army.
In this case, they asked us to expand their Dark Angels collection while sticking to a very specific concept: recreating the classic look of the First Legion during the Horus Heresy.
The instructions were very precise, both in terms of the color scheme and the differentiation of units through their shoulder pads. We also paid special attention to the conversions of the Terminator Chaplain and the Sternguard Veterans.

Expanding a Dark Angels Army
To maintain maximum visual consistency, we decided to start the project by airbrushing all the army’s main colors. Once that first phase was complete, the team divided up the different units to work on them as a group.
Converting the Terminator Chaplain was probably the most interesting challenge of the project. We wanted the head to be completely integrated under the hood, so we made a custom mold.
The Sternguard Veterans also required quite a bit of modeling work, as we combined Inner Circle Companion bodies with the Sternguard’s original weapons to create a much more distinctive unit.
