    Astra Militarum Army
    Color and paint schemes

Deep Games, our friends in battle, entrusted us with the mission of expanding their Ultramarine Auxilia army, and we accepted with enthusiasm. This time, a dazzling array of miniatures awaited us, from the formidable Lord Solar to the fearless Attilan Rough Riders. And we can’t forget the Leman Russ, Rogal Dorn, Chimera, Sentinel tanks and the minitanks that completed this combat formation.

Deep Games had assembled and customized the miniatures with 3D printed elements, entrusting us with the task of bringing them to life through painting, with ornate levels of detail for most and premium for the Lord Solar.

Our choice of color scheme was a tribute to the legendary troops of Macragge, the Ultramarines of Guilliman. Ultramarine blue adorned armor, helmets and armor, while luminous white robes reflected the nobility of these elite forces.

In the grim setting of the 41st Millennium, even the most decorated units bear battle scars on their armor, and our miniatures were no exception. We added custom details with 3D elements that evoked the aesthetics of the ancient Roman Empire, including the iconic crests on the helmets.

The bases of the miniatures were carefully decorated to represent the thriving garden worlds of Ultramarine. We used electrostatic grass, bushes and flowers of various colors to bring life and dynamism to each unit.

    Customer briefing

    The call of Ultramarine.

Our story with Deep Games started with a phone call. Antonio, a passionate Warhammer fan, contacted us with an exciting challenge. He wanted to expand his Ultramarine Auxilia and trusted us to make it happen.

Antonio had a clear vision for this project: a range of miniatures including the impressive Lord Solar and the brave Attilan Rough Riders. However, what really excited us was his request for a color scheme that captured the essence of Primarch Guilliman’s Ultramarines. He wanted these miniatures to exude nobility and power, even with the wear and tear of battle on their armor. In addition, he asked that the bases reflect the richness of the Ultramarine garden worlds.

Art on the Move: An Overview of the Auxiliary Army

Our talented team of painters, passionate about the world of Warhammer, were divided into four key specialties: tanks, heavy weapons batteries, troopers and Rough Riders, and the majestic Lord Solar. Tanks, although imposing, were the first to be completed due to our previous experience. The heavy gun batteries, with their magnetized weapons, presented an additional challenge, but we left no detail unpainted.

The Rough Riders, a unit full of amazing detail, were the real challenge. Our assigned painter put his heart and soul into making sure each rider looked spectacular and unique.

The Leman Russ mini-tanks, smaller than we expected, added a touch of fun to the project. Although their role on the battlefield remains a mystery, we painted them with the same passion as the rest of the army.

Incredible! Between these and the previous batches, they’ll be a bit scary on the tabletop xD.
