Deathwatch Army
Color and paint schemes
The client had previously entrusted us with painting a couple of Deathwatch figures, and this time, he decided to expand that small force into a much more complete army.
The entire army was painted to Ornate level, while the bases received our “Premium” finish, making them one of the most distinctive elements of the project. In addition, we carried out various 3D modeling projects.
The color scheme follows the classic Deathwatch aesthetic, with deeply desaturated black armor and the characteristic metallic left arm that identifies the organization.

Customer briefing
Between the darkness of the void and the gleam of steel
The goal of this project was not to reinterpret the Deathwatch, but to fully respect its visual identity. The client was very clear that the new army had to blend seamlessly with the miniatures we had previously painted, in terms of the treatment of black, metals, highlights, and bases.
In addition to the Ornate paint scheme, we created Premium bases with an industrial theme and developed 3D-printed scenic supports for the jump miniatures, achieving a much more dynamic and distinctive composition.

General picture of the project Ornate
The strength that came from two heroes
Each expansion is an exercise in visual memory. Our job was to revisit a style we had previously developed and apply it to more than thirty miniatures, each completely different from the others.
To achieve this, we started with the basic units, moved on to the specialists, and saved the characters for the final phase.
The bases also required special attention. Since this was an unusual design for our studio, we took the time to standardize the process so that all of them would maintain exactly the same quality.
