Kroot New Minis
Color and paint schemes
In this project, we have immersed ourselves in the fascinating world of the Kroot, one of the most interesting factions of the T’au Empire. Each of these figures has been worked with an ornate and premium level, both in the painting and in the bases. We have been inspired by the classic colors of the Kroot that appear in the codex of the T’au Empire, respecting the original essence of the faction, but giving a unique touch to each miniature.
One of the most interesting challenges of this project was to create a visual cohesion between miniatures that, despite sharing the same color scheme, have very different skin tones. We opted for a palette that combines grays, greens, oranges and dark browns, achieving a rich and attractive variety that does not break the harmony of the whole. For the miniatures bases, we chose a desert scenery with yellowish sand that reinforces the feeling of cohesion and arid environment.
The assembly of the miniatures has been fundamental to achieve the best results, especially with the Krootox Riders, in which we made a customized conversion requested by the client, replacing their original weapons with Broadside cannons. In addition, each stand has been treated as a key piece of the design, with desert ground effects, pigments and a subtle application of ink to give shadow and depth. The result is a group of miniatures not only faithful to their background, but also unique in their presence and character.

Kroot Hounds and Trail Shapers: High-end paint and unique details
Our client, a passionate fan of the Warhammer 40K universe, contacted us after seeing our work in painting miniatures of other factions of the T’au Empire. He was particularly interested in us helping him to shape his Kroots army, respecting the official color scheme, but with some custom details to give it a unique touch.
The brief was very clear: he wanted us to assemble and paint the miniatures with an ornate and premium level, keeping the codex colors, but varying the skin tones of the Kroots between greys, greens and oranges to give them more visual diversity. In addition, he asked us for the bases to reflect a desert landscape, with textures and effects that capture the feeling of an arid and dusty terrain.
Finally, he made a special request: to convert the Krootox Riders by changing their guns to Broadside cannons. With all these specifications, we accepted the challenge of bringing to life an army that blended the traditional with the customized, meeting the client’s expectations in every detail.

Krootox Riders with Broadside Cannons: Exclusive Conversion
The process of this project has been as detailed as it has been exciting. From day one, we made sure to keep the customer informed with photos of each progress. We started by assembling all the miniatures, paying special attention to the Krootox Riders, as they required a custom conversion. We replaced the guns with Broadside cannons, as requested by the client, achieving a unique result that looked spectacular.
After miniature assembly, we made a test miniature -a Lone Spear-, which we sent to the client to make sure that the color scheme, based on the T’au Empire codex, was exactly what he expected. Satisfied with the result, we proceeded to paint the rest of the units, using a combination of airbrush and brush to achieve the different skin tones, which ranged from grays to oranges and greens. Throughout the process, we sent photos of each stage, from the first coats of paint to the final details.
Finally, we focused on the bases for miniatures, setting them in a dusty desert with yellowish sand and pigments to give them realism. Every progress photo we sent was enthusiastically received, and the client was able to see his army come to life step by step.
